Council consults on second phase of Filton Roundabout work

South Gloucestershire Council (SGC) is running a public consultation on a proposed second phase of improvements to the A4174 Avon Ring Road, near Filton Roundabout. Phase one of the work, involving a widening of the westbound carriageway on its approach to the roundabout, is due to begin on 10th June 2013. South Glos Council backs down on Elm Park “land grab” plan

South Gloucestershire Council (SGC) appears to have abandoned plans to “grab” a slice of Filton’s Elm Park for a road widening scheme that is intended to mitigate the effect of increased traffic resulting from the redevelopment of Southmead Hospital. Ring Road set to be widened near Filton Roundabout

An extra lane could be added to the A4174 Avon Ring Road on its westbound approach to Filton Roundabout if plans being drawn up by South Gloucestershire Council (SGC) come to fruition. Outline details of the proposed scheme are revealed in a letter from an SGC Transport Engineer to Filton Town Council, published as part of the agenda pack for
