South Gloucestershire Council is warning that overnight resurfacing work due to take place at the A38 Filton Roundabout for an estimated eleven nights from tomorrow (Monday 14th October) will “create a significant amount of noise”.
The works will involve the planing off of the existing surface of the carriageway and the laying of a new surface. The work will start at approximately 8pm each night and continue until approximately 6am the following morning.
For the duration of the works, all of the approaches to the roundabout will be closed and all traffic will be diverted around the area whilst the closures are in place. Access to properties and amenities fronting the site and whose only access is from the closed road, will be available at all times and every effort will be made to keep the disruption to local residents to a minimum.
The council also warns that although alternative routes will be signposted whilst the works are in progress, it is possible that delays may occur on the surrounding network.
First Bus has announced the following diversions for its services during the road closures: Services 18 (Southmead Hospital to Emersons Green), 75 (Hengrove to Cribbs Causeway) and 309 (Bristol to Thornbury) will all divert along Wessex Avenue and then the full length of Filton Avenue before resuming their normal routes on the A38.
