Police have seized around 100 suspected cannabis plants from a house in Mortimer Road, Filton [map].
Officers were called to the property at about 12:25pm on Monday 6th August by a neighbour who knew the house was vacant and heard noises inside.
A 24-year-old man was arrested nearby and remains in police custody today (Tuesday 7th August).
The property was secured overnight and the electricity supplier attended today to make the supply safe.
Officers seized mature plants and the hydroponic equipment used to grow them.
Neighbourhood Sergeant Steve Ives said:
“We continue to target and tackle cannabis supply in South Gloucestershire. This latest seizure shows that we continue to get results. All the plants will be destroyed.”
“Anyone with any information on drugs supply in their area is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
According to the latest figures available on the police.uk crime data website, there were three drug-related crimes recorded in the Filton beat area during April 2012 and four during May 2012.

Avon and Somerset Police report that a man has been charged with drug offences in connection with yesterday’s incident.
“A 24-year-old man is due before Northavon Magistrates today, Wednesday August 8 2012, charged with abstracting electricity, being concerned in the supply of cannabis and producing cannabis.”
