Police were called to Nutfield Grove in Filton by a concerned resident who spotted a man acting suspiciously near an elderly neighbour’s home.
The call came in at about 7:15pm yesterday evening (Wednesday 4th July) and officers arrested a man in the area.
A 29-year-old man remains in police custody today (Thursday 5th July.)
Neighbourhood Inspector Bob Evely said:
“This resident did exactly the right thing by calling us. Our advice to anyone who sees anyone acting suspiciously is to call 999 if they think a crime is underway and a suspect still in the area.”
“It’s important to keep doors and windows locked even when you are home – it only takes a moment for a thief to sneak in and take a bag, wallet or small valuables while you’re in another room.”
